We did the aerial filming for this project, produced by Stellar London (http://www.stellar.london/) for the Royal British Legion and I’m proud of what we achieved, enjoy the video here: In Flanders Fields Or with the voice over watch this version In Flanders Fields (with voice over)
A lot of driving around, but the results are worth the hard work everyone put in for this fantastic opportunity.
Gill Archer-Cox from Stellar London was with me at most locations, he was the Art Director and together we try to capture the installations for the British Legion.
We started filming in Dunkirk, 8 am sharp on an October morning, and for the next 7days, we then shot Cardiff, Manchester, Burton on Trent, London and finally wrapping up the production at the white cliffs of Dover. ( I did not film New Castle)
We had a shot list to film, but on all location, I and Gill suggested other shot ideas, I’m very proud to say some of my shots ideas made the final cut.
A few days after we finished, Liz Hvide MacLeod from Stellar phoned me up to thank me for being part of the project and that they were glad I understood the brief and went the extra mile to get the shots they needed. And that they could not have done it without me and my creative input.
Even one top executive for BBC said he loves the beautiful shots and phone directly the British Legion to congratulate them on the video.
That means he loves my drone filming, how cool is that?
Anyway, I had to stop her then, because I was getting a red face, and didn’t know how to respond, stay humble and enjoy the compliment.
It’s not every day you get a fantastic phone call like this, and the feeling I got was awesome, although my standard is high and my clients know and can expect this from me, it’s really nice to hear someone appreciating what you do once in a while, made my week.
